1st Request for Proposals 2013
KORIL-RDF’s new request for full-scale project proposals in the 1st half of 2013 is now open until the end of January
2013. Those companies preparing Feasibility Studies or Mini-scale Projects may submit at any time of year, without

Three proposals have been approved by the Board of Directors during the meeting in Seoul,
November 22, 2012.
KORIL-RDF’s 23rd Board of Directors’ meeting was successfully held in
Seoul, Korea this time. Mr. Avi Hasson, the Chairman of KORIL-RDF, the
Chief Scientist of Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (MOITaL) in Israel,
Mr. Tae Hee Woo, Director General of Technology Policy in the Ministry of
Knowledge Economy(MKE) in Korea and other Directors came together to
engage in discussion for the approval of new proposals as well as the
operations of KORIL-RDF. During the meeting, the board approved 3 full-
scale project proposals.
The 24th BOD meeting will be held in Israel during May 2013.
 
Signing of the revised Agreement on December 20, 2012
On December 20, 2012, Mr. Tuvia Israeli, Israeli Ambassador to the
Republic of Korea, and Mr. Sukwoo Hong, Minister of Knowledge Economy
signed the revised Bilateral Agreement on behalf of the Israeli and Korean
governments. As per the revised agreement, the KORIL Foundation has
been enlarged and each government is to contribute 2 million dollars
annually.
 
Farewell 2012 and Welcome 2013
KORIL Friendship Night, a yearly event held at the end of the calendar year,
was held in the Imperial Palace Hotel, Seoul, Korea in December 18, 2012.
On this occasion, Mr. Tuvia Israeli, Israeli Ambassador in Korea delivered a
congratulatory message, and Mr. Tae Hee Woo, Director General for
Technology Policy in the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy, gave a
welcoming speech. Over 130 guests from various industries of both
countries gathered and spent meaningful time by sharing experience and
information for another year to come. During the event, a small concert
was given by Mr. Yoonwoo Lee of Hidea and KORIL staffs including
Dr. Choi.
 
Eilat Delegation - Korean Delegation in Renewable Energy Sector (November 24~30, 2012)
A Korean delegation, organized by KORIL-RDF and the Israeli Embassy in
Korea, visited Israel during the 5th International Renewable Energy
Conference and Exhibition, held in Eilat from November 27-28, 2012.
A total 9 participants (5 company representatives and 4 from public
organizations), had one-to-one business meetings in related fields and
explored local sites such as Heliofocus, Arava Power, and Capital Nature
Test Center.

Teva & Handok
According to the Israeli business newspaper Globes, Teva is entering the
Korean pharmaceutical market in collaboration with Handok
Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. Teva and Handok have agreed to establish a
business venture in South Korea. Teva will contribute its global resources,
with responsibilities for manufacturing and supplying a wide range of
affordable and innovative medicines. Handok's primary responsibility will
be in sales and marketing, distribution, and regulatory affairs. Teva will
have a controlling stake in the new business venture, with a profit split of
 
51%/49% to Teva and Handok, respectively. The venture is expected to commence activities in the next few months,
subject to receipt of applicable regulatory approvals.
